Java test to target high flyers

Berkshire based publishers, Psychometrics UK, are poised for the imminent release of their brand new Java skills test. Later this month, the test will become available to companies looking to improve their recruitment of high calibre Java personnel.

The new test has been developed by Java experts using the publisher's well established methodology. Each test item is extensively researched in a range of corporate environments to ensure full content and criterion-related validity. Pre-release trials undertaken in the UK last year showed the one hour test to have excellent predictive reliability, relevance and clarity. Candidates sitting the test will be required to answer 30 multiple choice questions on a range of content areas including polymorphism, inheritance, objects and classes, strings and arrays, scope variables and threads, logical operators, exception handling, running and compiling.

The Java Proficiency test will help corporate HR and IT managers identify and select candidates who have the right skill sets for a particular role. The job specific nature of the test simulates real programming problems - the only reliable way to test a candidate's technical proficiency.
